Success! A discussion!
Between Community Group, our Intro Night, the inability to obtain the book to read, and a fluke of people unable to attend one evening leading to a cancelled night, we’ve been kept from one of the purposes of our group, discussion. But we pushed through and after 5 weeks of group so far, we were finally able to have a discussion on our book last night: Stop Acting Like a Christian, Just Be One.
It was week 6 last night and the topic was great.
We talked about how we can show people kindness and how that looks within us— heart, soul, and mind. Most of us realized it’s our minds that hinder us. Responding negatively to people because of what we’re thinking about them; getting on the wrong ‘thought trains’. After we react, our heart usually tells us we shouldn’t have and we feel guilty.
There are so many times we’ve experienced receiving an act of kindness from someone, a nice gesture, a compliment, a courtesy, that it changes our mood and we tend to pass it on. A good heart is just as infectious as a bad attitude, so why stay on the train of the latter?
